Hi, I’m Lauren Donnelly and I am from a small town outside of Montreal, Quebec. I earned a B.Sc in Biology and International Development Studies from Dalhousie University and a M.Sc. in Integrated Water Resources Management from McGill University. While I am in the early stages of my career, I have very diverse work experience, including research on Canadian shale gas policy implications, microbiology laboratory work, and building capacity for climate change adaptation in the Caribbean. I am interested in the effects of climate change on our global waters, considering growing populations and competing water needs.
I am also interested in the science-policy interface, and I hope to complete a PhD in the near future where I will use scientific research to inform environmental policy. I am excited to contribute to Speak Up for the Blue, since I know that reaching the public is the best way to bring about change. Adapting to our changing planet is necessary, and I believe we can begin by informing ourselves on the important environmental issues which affect us all.
